The Level 1 Scaffolding Technician is responsible for assisting in the building, erecting, and dismantling of various types of scaffolds, working platforms, hooches and handrail systems.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)

  • Review blueprints, sketches, and work orders to determine materials and equipment required for assigned work.
  • Assist with the assembly, erection, and dismantle various types of scaffolds.
  • Use woodworking tools, power tools, and perform basic joinery techniques.
  • Perform material take-offs and material requirements.
  • Performing daily scaffold inspections, and performing scaffold material repairs.
  • Be willing, ready, and able to comfortably perform daily task working at heights, up to 100 feet. 
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

 

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one (1) years or 1,000 hours related training and scaffold experience required. One (1) year or 1000 hours of working in fall protection is required. Fall protection training certification is preferred, but not required. Scaffold builder’s card is preferred, but not required.  Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred. 

 

CERTIFICATIONS
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification and a valid driver's license required.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                               

  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.                         
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.

The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
