JOB SUMMARY
The cashier/host is responsible for providing professional customer service, processing sales quickly, accurately and efficiently, performs cash register operations and safeguarding assets according to established procedures.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
- Greet guests and seat as they arrive; provide menu and identify the server for the table.
- Operate cash register when receiving payment for cash, credit/debit cards or other (Medicaid); issue receipts, and process change/refunds/credits. Identify Medicaid guest payments to process.
- Take phone orders for customers, process order to cook’s line, and call cab for order delivery.
- Count money in cash drawer at the beginning/end of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and has adequate change. Prepare deposit money to bank daily.
- Assist/ensure that customers receive outstanding service by providing friendly environment which includes greeting customers, maintaining high standards, and providing solid product knowledge.
- Maintain contact with kitchen staff, management, serving staff to ensure dining details are handled properly and concerns are addressed.
- Maintain clean and orderly check out areas and other general cleaning duties, such as sweeping/mopping floors, emptying trash cans and other.
- Prepare and stock restaurant items, such as coffee, water pitchers, lemons, or clean utensil on tables with napkins.
- Help dishwashers and servers as needed.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior cash handling experience.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Customer service and phone etiquette.
