Electrical and Instrumentation Designer

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Under the supervision of Accounts Payable Manager, the Accounts Payable Clerk I/II serves as a representative of the company by displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

 

  • Ensures the integrity of the Accounts Payable sub-ledger and timely payment of all invoices.
  • Works closely with business unit managers to ensure invoices are properly coded and approved prior to payment.
  • Ensures vendor payments are processed timely in accordance with the terms and conditions outlined in our agreement with the respective vendor.
  • Reviews trial balance on a weekly basis for outstanding vendor payments and works with vendors on invoice corrections where applicable.
  • Oversees receipt and verification of employee expense reports and facilitates payment of employees.
  • Processes weekly payment registers.
  • Assists with the setup of new suppliers and vendors.
  • Assists Accounts Payable Manager with processing wire transfers, Central Treasury payments and other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
  • Demonstrates commitment to being a member of the General ledger team by contributing to meeting the goal of timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Minimum of one (1) year accounts payable experience
  • Working knowledge of accounts payable cycle
  • Proficient with computer and various accounting and spreadsheet software packages
  • Ability to operate calculator ten-key and computer keyboard
  • Must possess the ability to work independently
  • Must possess advanced analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively both in written and verbal form
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

 

  • Minimum 2 years accounts payable experience preferred
  • College-level accounting courses preferred but not required if experience is sufficient

  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.                    
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
