Under the general direction of the Stock Manager, the primary function of this position is to assist shareholders with requests and issues related to stock transfers, enrollments, dividends, annual meeting and other Shareholder Business matters and concerns. This position requires some traveling to perform duties as stated below in regard to ASRC Events that involve the Stock Department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

1.  Assist and follow up with ASRC shareholders with questions and difficulties relating to their payments, voting, I Am Inupiaq accounts, tax forms, stock forms and other Shareholder Business matters and concerns.

2.  Assist with the yearly ASRC Election, Annual Meeting, and Informational meetings (including village travel).

3.  Interface, professionally and positively with shareholders in person, through telephone or written communication.

4.  Maintain confidential files, records and data information pertaining to shareholder records.

5.  Will work with a team dedicated to shareholder projects and applications to develop and perform quality assurance testing for new application functions, reports, and raw data.

6.   Assimilates, distributes, and processes documents, materials and other records relating to corporate stock and shareholders.

7.   Performs large volume data entry in various ASRC Stock Applications.

8.   Assist the Stock Accountant with dividend mail outs, and other mass mail outs as prepared by the Stock Manager.

9.   Assist with Village Corporation(s) Stock Departments when necessary.

10.  Performs other duties as assigned by the Stock Personnel or Stock department leadership.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
  2. High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  3. Strong computer skills with MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Visio, Outlook, and other computer software programs.
  4. One year clerical, computer, accounting and public relations experience.
  5. Proficient process management skills.
  6. Must be able to pass requirements to become a notary.
  7. The ability to speak and understand the Inupiaq language is important and preferred.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
