Reporting to the SVP, Chief Operating Officer, the Senior Manager, Business Optimization is responsible for driving operational excellence across the organization by identifying, analyzing, and implementing process improvements that enhance reporting, operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service quality. Furthermore, this position works purposefully with senior leadership to lead initiatives that enhance operational performance, streamline workflows, and maximize resource utilization across the organization. This important role partners with cross-functional teams to develop strategies, standardize processes, and foster a culture of continuous improvement to achieve the organization's long-term strategic plans and operational initiatives.

This position is based out of PSI’s Anchorage corporate offices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Develop and execute a comprehensive process improvement roadmap aligned with PSI’s strategic initiatives and organizational performance goals.

  • Lead initiatives that optimize workflows and improve productivity across operations by leveraging operational data to drive sustainable improvement in productivity and cost effectiveness.

  • Collaboratively engage stakeholders to conduct detailed assessments using data analytics to identify bottlenecks, redundancies, inefficiencies, and opportunities.

  • Synthesize complex operational and financial data to inform executive design-making, providing actionable insights and recommendations.

  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to build internal capability in process improvement and a culture of efficiency through active stakeholder engagement and cross-functional collaboration.

  • Implement improved review and reporting of capital projects and corporate cost saving initiatives at refineries and terminals.

  • Establish, refine, and track operational polices and best practices that optimize efficiency, mitigate risk, and support continuous improvement.

  • Utilize data analytics to monitor operational performance, improvement impact and identify trends.

  • Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including regulatory bodies, vendors, customers, and community partners.

  • Promote engagement with Alaska Native communities, demonstrating knowledge of or willingness to learn about Inupiaq culture and values

  • Undertake additional projects and responsibilities as delegated by the SVP, Chief Operating Officer.

Education and/or Experience


Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum experience of five (5) years in operations, process optimization, or continuous improvement roles.

  • Proven success in leading optimization projects.

  • Proven ability to communicate effectively at the executive level and the capacity to build and sustain relationships across all organizational levels and with external partners

  • Track record of leading process analysis, implementing internal controls, and driving operational improvement initiatives at scale.

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), as well as operational and project management software, with the ability to leverage technology for strategic decision making.

  • Knowledge of or willingness to learn about the Inupiaq culture and values; experience working in Alaska Native or Indigenous contexts is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements


  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, reach, and use hands and arms regularly.

  • Must be able to lift/move up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Occasional exposure to outdoor weather conditions and industrial environments with moderate noise.

  • Requires travel between PSI locations.
