WNS Lab and Field Maintenance Technician – ASRC Talent Solutions

JOB SUMMARY

The Alpine Laboratory and Field Maintenance Technician is primarily responsible for providing safe and efficient sampling and analytical support for field operations, including quality verification of field sales products and monitoring of facility systems and chemicals. In addition, this position assists the Asset Integrity Team in monitoring facilities and pipelines and Operations Team with day-to-day facility and drillsite maintenance functions and tasks.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reporting of analytical data using LabVantage (LIMS) and Business Objects.
  • Analysis of custody transfer crude.
  • Fieldwide sampling for the routine analysis and monitoring of production facility systems (i.e., glycols, gas, water, oil).
  • Fieldwide sampling and sample prep of wellhead program samples (SIR).
  • Fieldwide sampling of non-routine samples.
  • Maintenance Pig sampling and analysis.
  • Biocide envelope sampling.
  • Monthly BLM gas sampling and record keeping.
  • Submit requests for lab equipment, materials, and supplies
  • Update lab sampling and analysis procedures
  • Provide for the safe, optimal performance, and operation of the Alpine Laboratory.
  • Adhere to safety and environmental policies and training compliance.
  • Actively participate in the decision-making process and support the decision.
  • Support corrosion monitoring efforts to extend the life of existing facility systems and other field assets, thus reducing overall production costs.
  • Increase lab analysis capabilities when opportunities arise.
  • Check data quality for correctness and make corrections when errors are discovered.
  • Day-to-day drillsite and facility maintenance functions and tasks including; assisting operators with pigging, installing and removing EIPs, flange management activities and other routine tasks; Inspecting and repairing operations equipment and tooling; Managing operations materials and inventories; and general housekeeping.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • 2+ years direct oilfield/petro-chemical operations experience
  • Driver’s License and ability to drive without assistance anywhere on the North Slope fields.
  • Able to work a 12-hour shift independently without supervision.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor of Chemistry or other science degree with courses in general chemistry and analytical chemistry. Relevant experience may substitute for specific coursework requirements.
  • 2+ years of laboratory testing experience in the petrochemical industry.
  • Experience working on the North Slope or other remote or arctic locations.
  • Ability to identify historical trends from large datasets.
  • Experience in ad hoc bench chemistry testing to classify unknown samples.
  • Familiarity with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS).
  • Instrument certifications from completion of industry-supplied technical training.
  • Experience and trained in Flange Management
  • Intermediate level of proficiency with reading and comprehending P&IDs and Isometric Drawings

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms.   Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
