JOB SUMMARY

The Willow Facilities Construction Supervisor is a core member of the Willow Construction Team. The position is responsible for safe and successful delivery of the Willow Facility Program. Construction Coordinators report to this position and support day-to-day field oversight, while the Field Facility Planner assists with coordinating, prioritizing, and progressing contractor work scopes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Reviews engineering drawings, verifies material quantities, identifies shortages and execution constraints, evaluates contractor execution plans, and leads construction readiness before field mobilization.

  • Prepare the Construction Readiness checklist for each annual construction campaign.

  • Review permits, stipulations, and engineering drawings; identify constraints and hazards; and finalize the field construction plan.

  • Participate in constructability reviews and provide feedback to the Willow Facility Planner and Willow Field Facility Planner.

  • Provide input to support strategies for camps, aviation, ground transportation, equipment, fuel, material delivery, and laydown requirements.

  • Promote knowledge sharing and apply relevant best practices, synergies, and lessons learned.

  • Develop Company deliverables required by the Construction Readiness process.

  • Lead construction readiness and weekly Company and contractor planning meetings; confirm deliverables receive functional review and approval; maintain meeting records; and close checklist actions before contractor mobilization is approved.

  • Ensure a smooth transition of the Construction Plan to field execution.

  • Provide oversight and supervision of assigned construction resources to achieve milestones and meet scope, cost, quality, and HSE requirements.

  • Monitor contractor performance through Construction Key Performance Indicator reports and direct performance improvement actions.

  • Ensure periodic progress and performance reviews occur with contractors, construction leadership, and project management.

  • Interface with and oversee contractor field leadership and manage interfaces among field construction contractors.

  • Manage day-to-day construction contract activities and coordinate SIMOPS with Drilling, Completions, and Operations.

  • Ensure implementation of the approved execution strategy, priorities, and milestones.

  • Lead HSE performance by communicating, supporting, and enforcing applicable policies, procedures, requirements, and objectives.

  • Perform jobsite walk-downs, review contractor THA/JHA documentation, and recognize effective task planning and safe execution.

  • Participate in contractor toolbox talks and safety meetings and reinforce Client safety processes.

  • Enforce adherence to regulatory permit stipulations.

  • Facilitate weekly Predictive Indicator meetings to improve contractor safe-work behaviors through analysis of proactive measures.

  • Facilitate safety engagements with Company and contractor field leadership.

  • Participate in the Client Behavior Based Safety observation system.

  • Implement and support the Client Incident Free Culture program through workshops, field engagements, instruction, and training.

  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Proven ability to lead and deliver large construction projects safely and successfully

  • Proven ability to manage interfaces involving multiple field construction contractors

  • 10+ years of construction experience

  • 7+ years of construction supervision or construction management experience

 

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Engineering, Construction, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant field experience

  • Previous experience with Capital Projects Management System (CPMS)

  • 5+ years of construction experience in Arctic conditions

  • Demonstrated performance on a large project with regular interaction with project leadership

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you.  All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift.  Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp.  Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc.  Each facility will have its own accommodation and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

 

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

The physical demands and work environment requirements outlined below are representative of those necessary to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. A post-offer, pre-hire Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) will be conducted to ensure an employee’s ability to safely meet job standards.
