TAPS Project Manager – HCC
JOB SUMMARY
The TAPS Project Manager is to plan, execute, and finalize projects according to strict deadlines and within budget. This includes acquiring resources and coordinating the efforts of team members and third-party contractors and consultants in order to deliver projects according to plan. The Project Manager will also define the project objectives and oversee quality control throughout its life cycle. Project Manager is also responsible for overall safety of all personnel working on projects under direct control. This position is located in Valdez, Alaska, working a rotational work schedule, 7 days per week when on shift.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
· Direct and manage project development plans from beginning to end.
· Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
· Develop full-scale project plans and associated communications documents.
· Effectively communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion.
· Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
· Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
· Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
· Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and other stakeholders.
· Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
· Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
· Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
· Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
· Track project milestones and deliverables.
· Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
· Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
· Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
· Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and contractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
· Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the Project.
· Develop the best practices and tools for project execution and management.
· Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
· Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
· A University degree or college diploma in the field of Engineering or Project Management is required.
· A valid (U.S issued) Driver’s License is required.
· A current TWIC Card is required.
· The ability to work 77 hours a week on a 4x2 rotation is required.
· At least ten (10) years’ direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of process development and execution is required.
· Demonstrated experience in personnel management.
· Technically competent with various software programs, such as Word, Excel, Microsoft Office Outlook.
· Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential.
· Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
· Reacts to project adjustments and alterations promptly and efficiently.
· Flexible during times of change.
· Ability to read communication styles of team members and contractors who come from a broad spectrum of disciplines.
· Persuasive, encouraging, and motivating.
· Ability to elicit cooperation from a wide variety of sources, including upper management, clients, and other departments.
· Ability to defuse tension among project teams, should it arise.
· Ability to bring projects to successful completion through political sensitivity.
· Strong written and oral communication skills.
· Strong interpersonal skills.
· The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment is crucial.
· Ability to clear pre-hire screening criteria including drug and background screening.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Three (3) or more years of experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in the Arctic Environment is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE
While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:
Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
