The Senior Compliance Lead is responsible for administering and advancing corporate compliance programs with a primary focus on SBA 8(a) and government contracting requirements. This role operates at a near-manager level, independently overseeing day-to-day compliance execution, supporting audit readiness, and providing guidance on joint ventures, licensing, insurance, and governance. The position partners closely with executive leadership and legal counsel to elevate risks and strengthen compliance maturity across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Government Contracting & Corporate Compliance
- Administer SBA 8(a), SAM, and related government contracting compliance programs.
- Monitor regulatory developments and recommend implementation actions.
- Conduct internal compliance reviews, risk assessments, and documentation testing.
- Coordinate audits and regulatory inquiries; maintain audit-ready records.
Joint Venture & Governance Oversight
- Facilitate compliance and governance for joint venture partnerships.
- Manage operating agreement updates, written actions, and meeting documentation.
- Track JV performance; identify and escalate risks.
Insurance & Licensing
- Coordinate insurance renewals and ensure contractual coverage compliance.
- Oversee business licenses, registrations, and required filings across jurisdictions.
- Maintain tracking systems to ensure timely renewals and accurate records.
Policy & Compliance Program Development
- Draft and maintain policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Support compliance training and awareness initiatives.
- Identify opportunities to enhance compliance processes and governance frameworks.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with legal counsel and leadership to interpret regulations and assess risk.
- Provide compliance analysis for new initiatives and strategic changes.

Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Legal Studies, Compliance, Public Administration, or related field.
- Considerable experience in government contracting compliance, including SBA 8(a) administration.
- Extensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), SBA regulations, agency-specific supplemental regulations, and corporate governance requirements.
- Experience leading audits and managing complex compliance documentation.
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and operate independently.
Preferred
- Advanced degree or compliance certification (e.g., CCEP, CPCM).
- Experience collaborating closely with legal counsel on regulatory interpretation and risk mitigation.
Work Environment
This role requires discretion, initiative, and a high degree of accountability. The Senior Compliance Lead is expected to proactively identify and mitigate compliance risks while operating with minimal supervision.
