The QA/QC Manager will work across the client’s Integrity Management, Projects and Engineering and Asset Operations Teams to implement a Quality Management Program for Supply, Fabrication, New Construction and Repair of Static Mechanical Equipment (pipelines, piping, vessels, tanks, valves etc.). This position is based in Anchorage but will require travel to the North Slope on occasion.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Implement fit for purpose Quality Assurance practices around Mechanical equipment supply, fabrication, construction, maintenance and inspection.
  • Oversee contractor Quality Control personnel and manage a non-conformance process.
  • Implement a program for communicating and delivering quality requirements for supply of mechanical equipment.
  • Interact with Field Inspectors, Project Engineering Teams, Construction/Maintenance Contractors and Equipment suppliers to strategically implement a fit for quality management programs for mechanical equipment.
  • Develop and implement a fit for purpose program for managing quality in 3rd party offsite fabrication including review of Quality Plans, Inspection Testing Plans, Weld Procedure Qualification and management of a non-conformance process.
  • Implement a fit for purpose program for managing quality in on-site fabrication, construction, maintenance and inspection activities.  
  • Review Quality Plans, Inspection Testing Plans, and Weld Procedure Qualification.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a valid driver’s license
  • BS in Mechanical Engineering or BS in an Engineering Field with Professional Accreditation in Mechanical Engineering required
  • Must possess at least two of the following:
  • API 570
  • API 653
  • AWS CWI
  • NACE CIP Level 
  • Supplemental
  • API 510
  • API 577
  • API CRI
  • ASNT Level II – UTT, MT, PT, RT Film Interpretation
  • National Board In-Service Commission
  • 5 years direct experience in Oil & Gas Inspection or Mechanical Engineering
  • Knowledge of ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8, API 1104, API 570, API 510, API 580/581, API 653, ASME Section VIII design and inspection codes.
  • Knowledge of fitness-for-service criteria, e.g. ANSI B 31G, RSTRENG, API 579 
  • Proficient in presentations (PowerPoint), written and oral communications
  • Familiar with industry NDE follow-up inspection techniques and their application
  • Ability to work well in multi-discipline teams and network between groups
  • Integrity management skills including an understanding of the main corrosion mechanisms in API 571, particularly damages relevant to carbon and stainless steels and common non- ferrous alloys.

  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
