Manager/Director Learning and Development – ASRC Energy Services, LLC

JOB SUMMARY

The Manager/Director of Learning and Development (title based on qualifications and experience) is responsible for assessing, creating, overseeing, managing, and implementing non-HSET online and in-person learning and development programs, content and materials to support the productivity, competence, and development of the organization's employees. This position is critical in fostering a culture of continuous learning and contributes to employee engagement and retention. The Manager will be capable of both overseeing and successfully implementing the organization’s overall program and delivering appropriate training personally when needed. This position is not primarily responsible for health, safety and occupational training needs, but will work collaboratively with the HSET department to drive the Company’s overall learning and development strategy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

      Develops and executes a comprehensive training strategy aligned with the organization’s objectives and priorities.  

      Collaborates closely with the HR leadership and operations to conduct ongoing training needs assessments and identify skill gaps within the organization.  

      Plans, organizes, facilitates and orders supplies for employee development and training events.

      Designs and develops curriculum and effective training materials and utilizes various media suitable for individual operational and employee needs. 

      Develops and maintains organizational communications such as intranet bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.

      Maintains a keen understanding of training trends, developments, and best practices.   

      Trains and coaches managers, supervisors, and others involved in employee development efforts.

      Modifies programs as needed.

      Leads and develops a trainer.  

      Establishes mechanisms for assessing the effectiveness of training and development initiatives and reports results and attendance.  

      Administers spending against the departmental budget.

      Ensures all training programs and materials comply with legal and regulatory requirements.  

      Exemplifies the desired culture and philosophies of the organization.

      Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

      Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

      Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

      At least 5 years of experience managing or working primarily in connection with employee development programs.

      Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design, and training delivery methods. 

      Knowledge of Learning Management Systems (LMS) and other training technologies.

      Familiarity with relevant employment laws.

      A high school diploma or GED equivalent required.

      A Valid Driver’s License required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

      Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential preferred.

      Bachelor's degree in relevant field.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                              

      Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

      Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing. 

      Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.                    

      Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. 

      Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
