The Laborer assists the on-site project team in entry-level tasks, including but not limited to cleaning, material handling, minor repairs, and maintenance. Provide support to all aspects of the jobsite, work with project management team and sub-contractors to keep the job moving forward and organized.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist carpenters and subcontractors in construction tasks.
  • Perform janitorial duties at job site and offices.
  • Clean debris and snow from project site.
  • Load and unload project materials.
  • Move gravel and rough sawn lumber by way of 4-wheeler or side by side, and dump in locations as instructed.
  • Shovel along riverway for gravel placement as instructed by supervisors.
  • Move materials, tools, and equipment to and from various areas on the jobsite.
  • Palletizing materials for shipment and material handling.
  • Inventory supplies and equipment, as directed.
  • Keep jobsite organized.
  • Follow safety requirements and utilize personal protective equipment.
  • Move traffic control devices as instructed by Traffic Control Supervisors.
  • Flagging (Traffic Control) as required by project needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to receive materials and take inventory using shipping documents, with an emphasis on organizational skills.  
  • Ability to prioritize work and multitask to meet assigned deadlines.
  • Ability to take direction when working with co-workers and supervisors.
  • Ability to perform a variety of different tasks associated with construction and maintenance.
  • Ability to work varying hours with overtime as needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Ability to work as a team to achieve common goals.
  •  Ability to conduct day to day activities in a professional manner.
  • Ability to follow the ASRC Employee Safety Handbook.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. Ability to pass pre-employment drug screening, background check, and ongoing random drug testing.
  • Ability to obtain any medical clearances required to perform the essential functions of the job.

Preferred

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior work experience in the construction industry.

The work environment is in a busy construction setting.  The noise level in the work environment is usually varies. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
