JOB DESCRIPTION
The starting pay for this position is $21.00 per hour. Under the general direction of the Assistant Manager, the primary functions of this to clean rooms and halls in the hotels by performing the following duties:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
- Sorts, counts, folds, mark or carry linens.
- Makes beds.
- Replenishes supplies such as drinking glasses and writing supplies.
- Moves furniture, hangs drapes, and rolls carpets.
- Cleans lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators, and stairways.
- Sweeps, scrubs, waxes, and polishes floor.
- Cleans rugs, carpets, upholstered furniture, and draperies.
- Dusts furniture.
- Washes walls, ceiling, and woodwork.
- Washes windows, door panels, and sills.
- Empties wastebaskets, and empties and cleans ashtrays.
- Transports trash and waste to disposal area.
- Replenishes bathroom supplies.
- Replaces light bulbs.
- Maintains a clean, safe, hazard free work environment at all times.
- Courteously and promptly responds to guest requests.
- Providing excellent customer service
- Works harmoniously and professionally with coworkers.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
- High school or equivalent certification.
- Physical fitness to perform cleaning and heavy lifting assignments.
- Previous background should include demonstrated ability to deal with the general public.
- Must be able to work independently, and must be willing to work shifts that vary from day to night and operate seven days a week.
- The ability to speak and understand the Inupiaq language is important and preferred.
