Under direct supervision of the Building Services Director, the Facility Support Technician It helps with the day-to-day operations of the ASRC Building Services department and obtains work assignments from their supervisor.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

  1. Customer service oriented with ability to multi-task, prioritize and manage time effectively to ensure customer satisfaction. 
  2. Responsible for completing assigned tickets. 
  3. Work with the Building Services Manager to resolve customer complaints via phone, email or other means.
  4. Provide light maintenance, service and repair throughout ASRC building and facilities. 
  5. Perform miscellaneous duties to include, but not limited to moving office furniture, basic picture hanging, keyboard tray installation, and furniture assembly as needed throughout the ASRC building.
  6. Responsible for administering Key & Lock program, including maintaining inventory and issuing/collecting keys for building tenants.
  7. Assist with ASRC’s Red Dot Program.
  8. Perform facility inspections and report on conditions affecting operations.
  9. Assist with setup and takedown of off-site events. 
  10. Assist with picking up supplies. 
  11. Provide back-up support to the Mailroom, as needed.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  1. High school diploma or equivalent. 
  2. Unrestricted driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  3. Basic computer skills including Outlook, Microsoft Word and Excel.
  4. Ability to organize tasks and time to ensure timely completion of all projects.
  5. Demonstrated capability to interface and maintain effective relationships with all departments and employees in a team-oriented environment.
  6. Ability to maintain confidentiality in handling company information.
  7. Individual must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  8. Ability to meet the attendance requirements for the position. 
  9. Strong mechanical aptitude

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
