Cost Controller – EPT Anchorage

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Cost Controller is responsible for providing project management with accurate and timely project cost reports, verifying cost performance against plan, and identifying areas of potential budget overrun requiring corrective action. This role is responsible for the timely and accurate execution of cost controls.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Cost Breakdown Structure updating according to existing cost estimates.
  • Verifying work progress status updating cost documentation and allocating costs to the right cost elements.
  • Updating of procurement and contract plans.
  • Performing earned value analysis.
  • Assuring/developing and maintaining all cost reports feeding in cost reporting systems (supported by software tools).
  • Supervise daily operating costs evaluation process
  • Verify field ticket alignment between received service and contractual obligation / rates
  • Preparing cost estimate breakdown structures.
  • Producing the best estimate allowed from the existing information.
  • Reviewing contractors or third parties cost estimates.
  • Participating/validating cost risk analysis.
  • Preparing the project cost estimate supporting documentation.
  • Supplying the necessary information to maintain updated the cost estimate database.
  • Development and update of procedures and tools.
  • Participating in cross project analysis.
  • Transferring experience within the team.
  • Acts in the respect of professional ethics and Company code of practice
  • Prepares monthly accruals for Drilling Department
  • Generates AFE Summary
  • Monthly Long Lead Cost Allocations – Submitting Journal Entries to Finance
  • Identify rates that are not in SAP or Contracts while reviewing each requisition for completeness
  • Assist with annual development of Procurement Plan
  • Support Contract Administrator in his/her function as needed
  • Support general administrative duties as required.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as needs require.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

  • Must have at least five (5) years of experience working in the oil and gas industry.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of experience in a cost control position required.
  • Must have a valid drivers license.

  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing. 
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.                    
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam 
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
