JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of the Tax Senior Manager the Corporate Tax Analyst is responsible for performing complex tasks and within the areas of financial reporting for income taxes, federal and state income tax compliance, internal controls, and external audit support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
- Work full-time in the Tempe, Arizona office of Arctic Slope Regional Corporation.
- Manage tax compliance responsibilities on a timely basis meeting all internal and external deadlines.
- Assist with the preparation of annual federal and state income tax returns.
- Coordinate quarterly income tax estimated payments and annual extensions.
- Maintains and retrieves tax department records and works with the records team and/or other departments to ensure compliance with record retention policies.
- Assist in documentation gathering and response to federal and state tax audits.
- Administer basic accounting processes for assigned area to reconcile accounts and balance reports.
- Data entry for tax software systems.
- Serve on cross-functional work teams to represent the corporation’s tax position.
- Assist in various special projects and other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Strong knowledge, understanding and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture.
- Bachelor’s degree and Arizona CPA candidate eligible.
- 0-2 years of accounting or corporate tax experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications is a must, with beginner to intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
- Team-player with a customer-centric attitude.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Energetic, committed with an appetite for learning.
- Disciplined work habits with good organization skills.
