Under the general direction of the Manager of Accounting, the incumbent performs Accounting duties and supervisory duties to support the operation of the Accounting Department.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
1. Review and process the weekly dividend check runs for accuracy and assist with the quarterly dividend runs, as needed, to ensure timely and accurate processing.
2. Perform daily and monthly reconciliations of shareholder files.
3. Ensure timely processing of legal requests for shareholder child support levies and stop payments.
4. Maintain necessary documentation of Treasury reporting daily transactions from the bank including daily and monthly reconciliations.
5. Cross train with the Accounting Manager to serve as backup bench strength to perform duties in their absence.
6. Prepare a monthly detailed variance analysis of budget to actuals and prior year to current year sales for all Barrow Operations and certain Corporate Subsidiaries.
7. Supervise employees performing Accounts Receivable & Payable duties and responsibilities.
8. Implement and monitor the implementation of sound financial internal controls for all Barrow Operations.
9. Assist in the preparation and review all month end closing entries to allow a timely month end closing process to meet ASRC Corporate’s deadlines.
10. Monitor and reconcile all intercompany balances between Barrow Operations and all other ASRC entities for each month end close.

Carry out managerial responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Supervise all employees within the department. Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, disciplining, coaching and training, addressing and resolving employee concerns, planning, assigning, directing work and assessing job performance.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
1. High school diploma or equivalent; college course work or bachelor degree in accounting related to field highly preferred.
2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of administrative functions, routines and guidelines.
3. Knowledge and understanding of general accounting practices, procedures and routine.
4. Ability to operate word processing and spreadsheet software including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word and Oracle Accounting.
5. Ability to operate computer system programs related to accounting and financial reporting.
6. Ability to multi-task, as well as work in an organized and efficient manner.
7. Excellent verbal and written communications skills – ability to write comprehensive reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups.
8. Problem analysis and problem resolution at both a strategic and functional level
9. Must have strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and be capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals.
10. Ability to maintain confidentiality and trust.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of employees or customers.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The work environment is in a busy office setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions and may be required to travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
