The Turbine Mechanic is responsible for performing the full range of turbine overhaul work, including the disassembly, assembly, installation, upgrade, repair, and maintenance of Ruston and General Electric turbines. Other duties include, but are not limited to, rebuilding pumps, air compressors, and other types of rotating equipment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (AND OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED)
  • Review blueprints, schematic drawings, and job specifications to determine work requirements. 
  • Disassemble machinery and equipment for shipment to installation sites or to vendors for repair. 
  • Assemble, install, upgrade, repair, and maintain industrial machinery and equipment such as overhead cranes, pumps, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, compressors, cylinders, valves, and automated machinery.  
  • Move machinery and equipment using hoists, jacks, rollers, and trucks. 
  • Prepare reports and conduct inspections as required.
  • Maintain and repair Ruston, GE Frame 5, GE-10, and Solar  Taurus 60, turbines.  
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of five (5) years related training and experience required. Experience in the oil and gas industry and in the arctic environment preferred.

CERTIFICATIONS
North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification and a valid driver's license required.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.                
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
