Technical Editor / Word Processor – ASRC Energy – Part-Time

JOB SUMMARY

The Technical Editor / Word Processor (TE/WP) is responsible for editing, formatting, and updating technical documentation for a wide range of technical and business-related needs. The TE/WP reviews documents for overall clarity, provides hard copy and electronic edits, supports staff in document development from draft to final, and completes various document production tasks as required. The TE/WP maintains document control systems to include version control, admin record, and archives. This position works closely with project managers, authors, and quality control staff to ensure error-free quality deliverables are completed on schedule and on budget.

*** This position is initially part-time with the opportunity to transition to full-time based on performance and operational needs.**

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

·         Edit, maintain, format, and update Client Deliverables following established formatting and style conventions for grammar, punctuation, flow, and overall effectiveness at presenting information to intended audience.

·         Edit, maintain, format, and update Company documents including technical manuals, policies, procedures, and other related documentation for all business areas in accordance with Company requirements.

·         Prepare proposal responses in coordination with management, estimators, and other personnel.

·         Participate in project meetings to identify requirements for documentation and provide support to staff in document development, revision, and final draft completion.

·         Develop style sheets and templates.

·         Maintain document control processes and procedures.

·         Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.

·         Support the AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

·         Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communication, Journalism, or Writing.

·         A minimum of 2 years’ experience in related field. Professional experience may be considered in lieu of education requirements.

·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office required.

·         Experience in Adobe publishing and graphics software preferred.

·         A valid driver’s license is required

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                              

      Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.

      Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing. 

      Required to complete and successfully pass a background check. 

      Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.
