The Roustabout performs general oil field labor tasks alone or as part of a crew under the direction of a lead roustabout. Must be able to take direction and perform an assigned task in a safe and timely manner. Must have knowledge of production facilities. Must have basic math skills to make calculations, also reading and writing skills to safely perform the work. Must have knowledge / awareness of BP process safe-out, confined space entry, and energy isolation procedures. Must have general knowledge of mechanical rigging practices and piping bolt-up procedures. Perform a large amount of physical labor both in and outdoors, bending, squatting, kneeling, and heavy lifting. Successful applicants must be willing to adhere to all policies and procedures and participate in safety programs. Submit VTA data, time sheets, etc.


  • Scrape, clean, prime, and apply protective coatings on various surfaces as required. 
  • Dig ditches, tunnels, bores, and back fills as required. 
  • Lift, carry, and handle construction supplies and materials. 
  • Assist journey-level workers as needed.  
  • Assist in the repair and lubrication of equipment and machinery. 
  • Operate light machinery and equipment as required. 
  • Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area. 
  • Delineator removal and installation. 
  • Well House Snow Removal.
  • Well house Subsidence.
  • Traffic Control – Work Zone Safety.
  • Comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.


High school diploma or GED with a minimum of one year related training and experience required. A combination of training and experience may be substituted for the diploma requirement. 


North Slope Training Cooperative Certification and Valid Driver's License required.

Preferences: Class A CDL & DOT Medical Card

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:  

  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.      
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam. 
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.

The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
