The Desktop Support Technician II provides resolution to all desktop support requests and works with the IT team to complete any and all requests from customers.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Configures, troubleshoots, isolates, repairs, and resolves all customer desktop issues including desktop/laptop hardware and software, mobile devices, printer, scanners, copiers, hardware peripherals and other desktop related equipment.
  • Troubleshoots and repair desktop computers to ensure they interconnect seamlessly with multiple systems including network drives and all business productivity applications.
  • Communicates directly with customers via phone, e-mail and remote diagnostics to identify, reproduce and resolve customer reported issues.
  • Works independently to troubleshoot all support requests and follow escalation policies.
  • Participates in testing, documentation and implementation of assigned projects.
  • Responsible for tracking hardware inventory per division policies along with running and terminating infrastructure cabling between workstations and communication closets. 
  • Provides technical/functional and/or administrative support.  
  • Performs routine tasks associated with desktop support.
  • Other duties will be assigned to this position as business needs require.
  • Must comply with Company and customer policies and procedures.
  • Supports AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Must be able to solve problems and make basic IT support decisions
  • Requires 3-5  years of experience at an intermediate level. 
  • General working knowledge of specific systems, terminology, and procedures used within the department.
CERTIFICATIONS

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.

A candidate must be able to meet the following non-exclusive requirements:                                                               

  • Meet the AES Driving Records and Motor Vehicle Use Policy.
  • Take and pass a pre-employment drug test which may include both UA and hair testing.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this position including working in a remote location under arctic conditions.
  • Required to take and pass a Fit-For-Duty Exam.
  • Required to complete and successfully pass a background check.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an access badge for the work location.

The availability of this position is contingent upon the Company’s continued operational needs once training is completed.
