ASKW seeks skilled construction laborers to work in Tuntutuliak, Alaska on the Lewis Angapak K-12 School Renovation/Addition project. Construction laborers will work directly with carpenters on a variety of skilled tasks. Duties include but are not limited to working with and around heavy equipment, material sorting and handling, site clean-up, temp construction, and demolition. Room and board will be provided for out of town employees. 

Work will start in the last week of May 2020 and go through the end of 2020. Some positions may be filled earlier depending on project demand.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)
To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each primary task satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required. 1. Assist carpentry and other trades during construction
2. Material Handling. May include shovel and dirt work.
3. Load, unload, identify, and distribute building materials
4. Daily project clean-up, put away tools, etc.
5. Demolition of existing buildings
6. Maintain a well-organized work environment
7. Must work safely in a team environment and be able to take direction when working with co-workers and supervisors
8. Must be able to perform a variety of different tasks associated with construction and maintenance
9. Must be to work on time consistently
10. Must work safely and in a team environment
11. Other duties as assigned
12. Ability and wiliness to abide by ACHC code of conduct, policies, and procedures
13. Comply, understand, and support ACHC safety culture to ensure a safe work environment
14. Display knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity to the Inupiat Culture


1. High School Diploma or GED preferred
2. Valid Drivers License
3. Prior work experience in the construction industry preferred
4. Must have necessary math skills to make calculations

1. Manual dexterity, eye-hand coordination and a good sense of balance. 
2. Must be physically fit as this is a labor intensive position. 
3. Must be able to lift and carry object are weighing up to 50 pounds consistently. 
4. Must be able to with frequency: stoop, bend, and crouch; while using of hands, arm, and legs. 
5. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close\distance focus, color\peripheral vision, depth perception.

1. Work in a fast-paced team environment.
2. Work 40 to 60 hour 5 to 6 day a week (schedule may vary with work demand and project activities)

6. Requires travel in small and large commercial aircraft.
