The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager with day to day project administration, operations, and communication. This position will provide project management support for all types of construction in order to ensure the successful, on-time completion of projects. (Administrative Operations, Estimating, Contract Administration and Project Management)


Project Management Support

  • Supports the Project Manager in planning for and proactively managing construction projects, to achieve quality, schedule, budget and safety objectives.
  • Supports the team in focusing on quality, both in the field and in the office, to ensure that the contract requirements are met.
  • Accountable for preparing complete, accurate and timely submittal log based on project drawings and specifications.
  • Process material submittals prior to purchasing materials.
  • Help with project buyout, takeoff and coordination.
  • Obtains the construction materials and verifies that they are received in the field, as they were ordered.
  • Follows up on all purchased materials, monitors current status and updates the PM and Project Superintendent.
  • Coordinate efforts by subcontractors to include subcontract invoice review, scheduling and compliance.
  • Assist in the development of construction schedule and regular schedule updates.
  • Abides by the ACHC code of conduct, policies and procedures and promotes shareholder hire on all projects.
  • Complies with, understands and supports the ACHC safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Responsible for timely completion of all required project close-out documents per contract.
  • Make site visits to review construction progress and quality control efforts.

Project Superintendent Support

  • Supports the quality control effort to ensure that the project specifications are met.
  • Ensures that all the construction safety rules and regulations are being observed and all safety documentation is completed and filed.
  • Supports the cost control effort on the jobsite.
  • Coordinate/book travel flights for crew and subcontractors as required
  • Track camp days including room & board, meals for crew and subcontractors


  • High school diploma or GED.  Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business discipline preferred
  • 2-4 years of experience in construction trade/administration with extensive remote project experience including project controls and remote logistics
  • Working knowledge and use of the Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word, Project Etc), P-6 scheduling, and accounting systems
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Strong knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity to the Inupiat culture
