The Project Engineer supports the Project Manager and project team with day to day project administration, operations, and communication. This position provides project management support for all types of construction in order to ensure the successful, on-time completion of construction projects.

 

This position is based in Fairbanks, Alaska.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


PROJECT MANAGEMENT SUPPORT

  • Supports the Project Manager in planning for and managing construction projects.
  • Supports the team in focusing on quality, both in the field and in the office.
  • Processes material submittals prior to purchasing materials.
  • Obtains the construction materials and verifies that they are received in the field, as they were ordered.
  • Follows up on all purchased materials, monitors current status and updates the PM and Project Superintendent.
  • Coordinate efforts by subcontractors to include subcontract invoice review, scheduling and compliance.
  • Abides by the ACHC code of conduct, policies and procedures and promotes shareholder hire on all projects.
  • Complies with, understands and supports the ACHC safety culture to ensure a safe work environment.

 PROJECT SUPERINTENDENT SUPPORT

  • Supports the quality control effort to ensure that the project specifications are met.
  • Ensures that all the construction safety rules and regulations are being observed and all safety documentation is completed and filed.
  • Supports the cost control effort on the jobsite.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or Business discipline preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience in construction trade/administration preferred.
  • Working knowledge and use of the Microsoft office programs (Excel, Word and Outlook), Primavera P6 scheduling, and various accounting systems
  • Strong analytical and reasoning abilities
  • Experience with USACE projects and RMS system.
  • OSHA 30 preferred.
